Description

This namespace is used to identify a patient, using a Medical Record Number (MRN). This namespace is used by an organisation that has a registered HPI-O (Healthcare Provider Identifier for Organisations).

When used to issue a qualified identifier in accordance with Secure Message Delivery – Qualified Identifiers v2.0, it will have the following form:

  • http://ns.electronichealth.net.au/id/hpio-scoped/medicalrecord/1.0/<hpi-o of organisation>/<local identifier>

An example of the syntax of a HPI-O scoped local identifier represented as a qualified identifier using this namespace is:

  • http://ns.electronichealth.net.au/id/hpio-scoped/medicalrecord/1.0/8003620000000000/123456

In OID-based systems use 1.2.36.1.2001.1005.29.
