The Agency is very keen to understand and get feedback from the medical software industry on some key topics within the Guidelines.

Overview

The Agency convened an inter-governmental working group from Australia’s health departments and the Digital Transformation Agency to harmonise the procurement and use of standards, based on best practice approaches to interoperability requirements for ICT system procurement. These Interoperability Procurement Guidelines (Guidelines) are a product of this collaboration. The Guidelines were written for the Jurisdictions, by the Jurisdictions.

The Agency is very keen to understand and get feedback from the medical software industry on some key topics within the Guidelines. Some prompt questions for feedback can be found below:

  1. What are your current pain points with respect to interoperability requirements in jurisdictional tenders?
  2. What suggestions do you have for improving the quality of interoperability requirements in the jurisdictional tenders?
  3. Should the Guidelines provide direction on whether requirements should be mandatory, highly desirable, desirable or optional?
    1. At present this is out of scope and left up to the procuring organisation.
  4. Do the example clauses make sense?
    1. Any suggestions on wording?
  5. Are there any other topics not included in the Interoperability Procurement Guidelines that need to be there?

Please provide all feedback by CoB on the 20th of September 2022 to email [email protected].
