Who is collecting your personal information?

Your personal information is being collected by the Agency through your registration to use the Australian Digital Health Developer Portal (Developer Portal). This collection is undertaken in accordance with the Agency’s Privacy Policy.

Collection of your personal information Your personal information (your name and e-mail address) will be collected for the purpose of the creation and maintenance of your Developer Portal account. This includes providing you with periodic updates to the area(s) of interest you identify in your Developer Portal account.

Authority for collection of personal information

The Agency has several functions under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (Establishing the Australian Digital Health Agency) Rule 2016 (Rule). Your information is collected for the purpose of the Agency’s functions under the Rule, including to continuously innovate and improve systems and services in relation to digital health, and anything incidental to these functions.

The purpose of the Developer Portal: “supporting streamlined connectivity between health systems and enabling interoperability to provide positive health outcomes for all Australians” is in-line with this Authority.

Why does the Agency collect your personal information?

The Agency collects your personal and information for the purpose of the creation and management of your Developer Portal account as described above.

Any personal information you provide during this registration process may be used by the Agency, or potentially Agency Contractors, to inform its work.

What would happen if you do not consent to the collection of your personal information?

If you do not consent to the Agency collecting your personal information through this registration process, you will not be able to register as a user of the Developer Portal.

Who will the Agency disclose your personal information to?

Developer Portal registration information will be shared with relevant Agency Personnel and, potentially, Agency contractors. The Agency will not disclose your personal information to external parties, other than the Agency’s system providers e.g., Microsoft in their capacity as contracted service providers to the Agency. Any mandatory disclosures required by the Privacy Act 1988 are described in the Agency’s Privacy Policy.

Access to and correction of your personal information

The Agency’s Privacy Policy contains information about how you may access and seek correction of personal information about you that is held by the Agency. You can contact the Agency by email  for more information about how to request access to, or correction of, your personal information held by the Agency.

Privacy complaints

The Agency’s Privacy Policy contains information about how you may enquire about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles and how the Agency will deal with complaints.

Overseas disclosure of your personal information

Personal information collected in your registration as a user of the Developer Portal will not be disclosed to overseas parties by the Agency.
