Healthcare Identifiers Service - Conformance Documents - Release Note v5.0

Key updates in this version of the conformance profile include:

• New requirements for using a mobile number or email address to search for an IHI, and updating patient details in the HI Service (new use case), including mobile number, email address, additional names or date of birth.
• Requiring the capability to search/validate IHIs by IHI, Medicare and DVA number (all 3).
• Requiring Medicare IRN in a Medicare number IHI search/validation in systems that have not previously passed conformance.
• Consolidated summary of use cases, including purpose and occasion of use.

The related conformance artefacts in this suite of documents have been updated to reflect these changes, along with editorial and formatting updates to improve clarity and usability.

In addition, the HI Service Conformance Assessment Scheme validity period has been updated. Software assessed as conformant against version 5.0 or later of the HI Service Conformance Profile will have a conformance validity period of 3 years from the date of the latest production access letter issued by Services Australia.
