This implementation guide describes the distribution of International Society of Blood Transfusion standard ISBT 128 labelled products through a supply chain using GS1 logistics standards. This enables labellers and users to use the information carried by ISBT 128 data structures and supply chain intermediaries to use GS1 identifiers. The guide describes the use of Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) identification, the GS1 logistics label and GS1 XML Despatch Advice Messages.
