SNOMED CT is a standard for data elements used in the electronic exchange of clinical information.
This document defines a formal language (syntax) for representing sets of clinical meanings using SNOMED CT expression constraints. Expression constraints are used for various purposes, including restricting the valid values in a health record, intentionally defining a reference set, or restricting the range of an attribute in the SNOMED CT concept model.
The document includes examples and implementation guidance.
