GS1 Product Image Specification Standard

This standard establishes rules for the storage of digital images associated with products. It covers images such as barcodes and labels as well as photographic and rendered product images. The standard provides details on all aspects of digital imaging storage with a focus on the highest quality and size of image that should be stored to enable any output format required.

It is important to note that other data associated with images, including metadata, are also essential for the timely and accurate use of images. Additional information on minimum data requirements are outlined in the Trade Item Implementation Guideline (TIIG).
