This document provides guidance for serialised data exchange between contract manufacturing organisations, third-party manufactures, contract packagers, and the manufacturers who use these partners. It aims to facilitate harmonised electronic communication with these providers to lead to more efficient and cost-effective use of their services.
This electronic-data exchange guide provides a consistent framework for how these service providers should, for example: implement quality standards, capture and exchange data, serialise products, aggregate them, report these activities, and conduct business with each other in alignment with GS1 Standards and/or the specific regulations of the destination countries.
