Many countries systematically define and collect health information to monitor the performance of health systems. This often involves the collection of specific health indicators which are used to describe a variety of health and health-system-related trends and factors. A health indicator must be informative and also sensitive to variations over time and across jurisdictions.
This standard adopts ISO 21667:2010 to establish a conceptual framework for common health indicators. It is intended to foster a common vocabulary and conceptual definitions for the resulting framework.
