Health informatics — Patient healthcard data – Part 2: Common objects

This standard describes and defines the Common Data objects used within, or referenced by, patient-held health data cards using UML, plain text and Abstract Syntax Notation (ASN.1). It establishes a common framework for the content and the structure of common objects used to construct data held on patient healthcare data cards. It is also applicable to common objects referenced by other data objects.

This standard is part 2 of 8 in the ISO 21549 series of International Standards which provides data structures and definitions for data objects on patient data cards. It applies to situations in which such data are recorded on, or transported by, patient healthcards that are compliant with the physical dimensions of ID-1 cards defined by ISO/IEC 7810.
