This standard defines the procedural requirements for validating an entity credential based on healthcare public key infrastructure (PKI) defined in the ISO 17090 series used in healthcare information systems including accessing remote systems. Authorisation procedures and protocols and the data format of digital signatures are out of scope of this standard.
