Security threats to confidentiality can be addressed in various ways including access control, physical control and encryption. This supplement provides end-to-end confidentiality to workflows where a document progresses in unanticipated paths, where workflows use many different types of transport, or where workflows involve storage systems such as USB media.
This supplement adds 2 alternatives to the IHE profile portfolio for encryption:
- The Document Encryption Profile provides a means to encrypt any kind of documents in a transport-independent way. Its approach enables access to documents to be targeted to specific recipients.
- The IHE XDM Media Encryption Option enables the encryption of the whole XDM media content for use with the various media types (such as USB media or CD-ROM).
Main sections:
- Introduction
- Volume 1 - Integration profiles
- Volume 2 - Transactions
- Volume 3 - Cross-transaction specifications and content specifications
