          This is a supplement to the IHE Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (PaLM) Technical Framework V10.0. It describes the Transfusion Medicine – Administration (TMA) profile. The TMA profile defines the workflows and messaging transactions which focus on communicating the administration of, and adverse reactions to, blood products from an electronic medical record system to either a:
· Laboratory Information System (LIS)
· Incident Reporting System (IRS)
· other interested observer of the transfusion process.
