This is a supplement to the IHE Patient Care Coordination Technical Framework.
Current CDA content profiles do not capture specific summary information about a document to meet the needs of users (such as a provider or patient). This document outlines the CDA Document Summary Sections (CDA-DSS) profile, which is a content profile that describes the different types of section templates that can summarise content in the document (or add summary content that is not already included in the document). This profile will provide a way to communicate precise information about a document or section(s) in a useful way.
