When professional patient transport takes place between facilities, information necessary for the patient’s care needs to be recorded and communicated to the receiving facility. The Routine Interfacility Patient Transport (RIPT) profile allows for the efficient and accurate communication of such information via electronic transfer summaries.
This supplement to the IHE Patient Care Coordination Technical Framework specifies the clinical document architecture (CDA) and Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) transactions that will be involved in interfacility patient transport.
