Waveform information can be optionally included in appropriate IHE Patient Care Device (PCD) transactions. This supplement to the IHE Patient Care Device Technical Framework describes the Waveform Content Module (WCM), which defines the data structure and semantics for the communication of waveforms and other time-series datasets via HL7 V2 messages.
The intent of this supplement is to facilitate the interoperability of systems from different vendors and the integration of waveform data delivery into other IHE PCD profiles.
