This document describes the work processes and data information exchange needs for newborn screening programs administered by regulatory health authorities. These screening programs include newborn bloodspot and screening (NBS), which is used to screen for metabolic, pulmonary, genetic, haematologic and endocrine disorders and infectious diseases, and newborn hearing screening (NHS), which identifies permanent conductive or sensorineural hearing losses.
