Research protocols are complex documents that guide the conduct of trials. The existing Retrieve Process for Execution (RPE) Profile acts as a framework for messaging interactions used to convey information about trials, including the protocol and process, the trial design model, the planned sequence of events and the activities within the protocol.

This document describes the Clinical Research Process Content (CRPC) Profile, which uses the RPE framework to facilitate the exchange of detailed research-specific content.

Main sections:

· Overview

· Use case #1: Recruitment at the point of care

· Use case #2: Update of patient-specific study events

· Security considerations
