IHE Radiology Technical Framework Supplement – Standardized Operational Log of Events (SOLE)

Healthcare providers have a strong desire to increase throughput and efficiency, both to improve the quality and timeliness of care and to control costs. These process improvement efforts depend on being able to capture workflow events and apply business intelligence tools. This supplementary resource defines a way to exchange information about business activities that can be collected, analysed and displayed using standard methods. An example event sequence for a typical patient study might be ‘patient arrived’, ‘study started’, ‘study completed’, ‘patient departed’ and ‘report completed’.
