The World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA) and the ICCBBA maintain a database of organisations that issue Global Registration Identifiers for Donors (GRID). This is known as the GRID Issuing Organization Database.
This standard describes the structure of the GRID Issuing Organization Database and provides instructions for:
- obtaining an Issuing Organization Number (ION)
- updating ION information in the database
- using a GRID for hematopoietic progenitor cell (HPC) donors and potential donors.
