The mental health community managed organisations (CMOs) sector offers a broad range of services, such as psychosocial rehabilitation, helpline and counselling services, subacute step up/step down services, accommodation support, self-help and peer support, employment, education, and family and carer support.

The National Safety and Quality Mental Health (NSQMH) Standards for CMOs were developed to protect the public from harm and to continuously improve the quality of service provision. They provide a quality assurance mechanism for testing whether systems are in place to meet safety and quality standards.

Main sections:

• Practice governance standard

• Partnering with consumers, families and carers standard

• Model of care standard
