The International Council of Nurses (ICN) represents nursing worldwide to advance the nursing profession, promote the wellbeing of nurses, and advocate for health in all policies. Their vision is that the global community recognises, supports, and invests in nurses and nursing to lead and deliver health for all.
ICN maintains the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP). It provides an agreed set of terms that can be used to record the observations and interventions of nurses across the world. ICNP also provides a framework for sharing data about nursing and for comparing nursing practice across settings. The ICNP is available as part of SNOMED CT.
