Health Level Seven Standard Version 2.8.2

This document contains the specifications for Version 2.8.2 of the Health Level Seven Standard for electronic data exchange in healthcare environments, with special emphasis on hospitals.

Changes made:

· support functionality for communicating an orderable lab test compendium, ordering laboratory tests and reporting lab results for the US Government’s proposed laboratory implementation guides

· update vocabulary needed for the Australian national health IT initiative

· support the US initiative to introduce universal device identifiers.
