Arden syntax is a syntax for the explicit representation of scientific, clinical, administrative and other knowledge in clinical decision support systems. This implementation guide provides a summary of Arden syntax, as well as ideas and examples related to how the syntax may be best used to address certain clinical applications. These applications include generation of alerts related to drug‒disease interactions, implementation of multipart clinical guidelines, and immunisation decision support.
