This document defines the Health Quality Improvement Domain Analysis Model (QIDAM) which is a conceptual model for health data for use in the health quality domain. It harmonises the requirements for patient data use in quality measurement and clinical decision support resulting in a single model to serve both aspects of quality improvement. By doing this, the model helps to overcome issues related to these 2 closely related artefacts being treated separately.

Currently, the quality of care provided in measured using electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs), and the interventions to improve the quality of care are measured using clinical decision support (CDS). These 2 artefacts are expressed using 2 different data models: the Quality Data Model (QDM) and the Virtual Medical Record (vMR), respectively. By harmonising the elements from the existing eCQM and CDS data models into a single, unified conceptual model, the QIDAM provides the foundation for consistency in format across eCQMs and CDS artefacts.
