HL7 Domain Analysis Model: Specimen, Release 2

This domain analysis model (DAM) presents the business requirements for data elements related to specimens for electronic data record systems (Electronic Health Record System, Personal Health Record System or Laboratory Information System). The DAM consolidates all the requirements across the different use cases for all HL7 domains. The DAM represents all data elements, regardless of use in data exchange, as long as they support workflow in their respective domains. The DAM does not describe the relationships between multiple specimens related to specific orders, or determine if a specimen is appropriate for a specific test.
