The HL7 EHR-S Functional Model defines a standardised model of the functions that may be present in electronic health record (EHR) systems. This document provides a functional profile to facilitate capture of clinical medication-related data at the point of care in a single logical health record. The functional profile specifies the requirements needed to support messaging among prescribers, pharmacists or pharmacy providers, and other healthcare entities benefiting from medication-related information.
The implementation guide covers direct care functions, supportive function and information infrastructure functions.
