HL7 Messaging Standard Version 2.7

This document contains the specifications for Version 2.7 of the Health Level Seven (HL7) messaging standard for exchange of electronic clinical data in all healthcare environments, with special emphasis on inpatient acute care facilities(hospitals). It is designed to support a central patient care system as well as a more distributed environment where data resides in departmental systems. It supersedes version 2.6 of the standard.
