HL7 Privacy and Security Logical Data Model, Release 1

National and state legislation, regulations and/or privacy policies protect individuals from the misuse of identifiable health information. The information describing these policies requires standard and interoperable representations so that security and privacy protections can be enforced across different systems using automated controls. This standard describes a logical data model (LDM) for security and privacy that may be used to create implementations which serve a variety of purposes, including regulation and compliance access control.
