HL7 Version 3 Standard: Blood, Tissue, Organ; Donation, Release 1

This HL7 Version 3 standard: blood, tissue, organ; donation standard, Release 1 supports electronic interoperability activities related to the registration, screening for eligibility, donation and collection of blood from humans. The standard is a messaging specification intended to standardise the electronic transmission of information between system application components in a blood bank setting. The blood, tissue and organ domain comprises the models, messages and other artefacts that are needed to support messaging related to the process of blood, tissue and organ banking operations such as donations, eligibility, storage, dispense, administration/transfusion, explanation and implantation, but this release pertains only to blood donation.
